About Softball Success

Meet Ken Krause (Coach Ken)

Ken has been coaching fastpitch softball teams for more than 20 years, and has been teaching private lessons for more than 15 of those years. He is a Three Star Master Coach in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association's (NFCA) Master Coach program, which is a college master's degree-level program focused exclusively on softball coaching. He is also certified by the American Sports Education Program (ASEP) and the Amateur Softball Association's (ASA) VIP program.

In addition to his on-field work, Ken is a well-known softball writer. He is a contributing editor for Softball Magazine, where he writes a regular column, and has his own blog called
Life in the Fastpitch Lane. Ken is also the administrator of Discuss Fastpitch Forum, the most popular softball forum in North America.

During the off-season, Ken teaches lessons out of two locations - North Shore Baseball Academy in Vernon Hills, Illinois and Pro-Player Consultants in McHenry, Illinois. Most are individual private lessons, but he also does two-person, small group and clinic-size lessons. To contact him about lessons or for more information, call 847-373-2249 or email
